The story of AVEDA
Created by the hairdresser of the stars Horst Rechelbacher in 1978, Aveda was born following a spiritual retreat he spent in India. He drew inspiration from the culture of wellness to promote balance in mind and body to launch his own brand of hair products with Ayurvedic doctors Vinod and Kusum Upadhyay. He wanted to go beyond the simple use of products by creating the emblematic ritual of the famous neck and shoulder massages.
